The Myanmar national football team yesterday drew 1-1 with Japanese club Okayama in a friendly match in their build-up for the upcoming 2012 Suzuki Cup.
Okayama, which stands 10th in Japanese J-League Division-2 in the 2011-12 season, met the local side at Thuwunna Stadium.
Myanmar led the match with Kyi Lin’s goal 7 minutes into the game. The local side was in great touch against the visitors, especially in lodging counter attacks.
Okayama came up with some strong attacks, putting a lot of pressure on the home team. Osakaki scored the equaliser for Okayama five minutes from time.
Myanmar coach Park Sung-Hwa put a host of reserve young players to the test as some key players had to stay out of the game due to their injury.
Myanmar will take Okayama for the second warm-up match on tomorrow (November 17).
In their previous encounter in Japan in September, Myanmar lost to Okayama 0-6.
