The 120 athletes comprising Myanmar’s rowing team are now training for the 2018 Asia Games to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The team will participate in three events – canoe and kayak, international competition and traditional competition.
Though training is now underway, the local coach said the team is seeking a foreign coach for the canoe and kayak competition.
At the 29th Asia Games held in Malaysia, there was no competition for rowing and so Myanmars’s rowing team had to sit out the games.
Myanmar won a gold medal at the 2015 Singapore Games.
In the 2018 Games, 32 prizes are to be awarded in rowing competitions.
Jakarta Palembang 2018 is a multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 18 August 18 to September 2, 2018.
