The repatriation process that began ever since January 23 2018 for Bengalis that fled Myanmar during the chaos in Maungdaw conflicts had only served five Bengalis returnees so far.

Ministry of Information confirms that a family of five Bengalis returned to Myanmar on April 5.

They returned to Taungpyo Letwei camp where they were checked according to 1982 Myanmar Citizenship Law and were issued NV (National Verification) cards immediately.

Later, medical checks were carried out individually and Ministry of Social Welfare and Resettlement provided them with rice, mosquito nets, blankets, T-shirts, longyis and Htamis, and kitchen wares and sent them to where they used to live in Myanmar.
