About 500 refugees are sheltering at Yadanar Shwe Gu monastery in Hsipaw and in Bawkyo village.

“Ten soldiers from the RCSS hit a mine and were injured. I heard no one was killed. More than 300 villagers fled the fighting,” said Dawlar from Hsipaw.

“I heard that the 99 or 77 Light Infantry regiments from the army, the RCSS and TNLA are fighting. All the villagers fled. More than 300 people are staying at Yadanar Shwe Gu monastery. There will be more people arriving. Some went to Bawkyo. The chief minister allocated Ks10 million for refugees. The general administration department should provide aid,” said Tuu Tuu from Hsipaw.
