Yangon to implement first phase of eco green city project

The first phase of the eco green city project in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, will be implemented from 2018 to 2023, according to the Ministry of Construction.

Located beside Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, the project has an area of 1,453 acres and will be jointly developed by the ministry and Alliance Star Group.

The first phase project to be on 667.68 acres of land will include infrastructures such as low-cost affordable housing, bus terminals, markets, restaurants, administrative offices, shopping mall, mixed use zone, park, playground and road networks.

The eco green city project is part of Yangon Vision 2040 drawn by Japan International Cooperation Agency. The project aims to provide housing for low-income people, establish a logistic hub in northern Yangon, create job opportunities for local people and create a green, beautiful city in Yangon, the commercial capital of Myanmar.
