Disasters and accidents claim 125 lives in June

Some 125 deaths reported were recorded last month as resulting from 141 natural disasters and accidents nationwide, according to the search and rescue operation team at the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
The disasters and accidents destroyed 226 houses and affected 212 people. The incidents included building collapses, landslides, storms, flooding, traffic accidents, vessel capsizings and a plane crash.
On June 7, Flight Y8-200F bound for Yangon via Myeik crashed into the sea near Dawei, killing more than 100 passengers and crew.
