Local girl band Me N Ma Girls will travel to the United States at the end of this month to sign a record deal with an American label and perform at the Women in the World Summit in New York.

Danish pop rock band Michael Learns to Rock will perform for the first time in Myanmar at the People's Square in Yangon on March 31, according to concert organiser Friendship Entertainment.

A concert of traditional Japanese music was held at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon on Monday along with lectures and workshops on traditional music to mark the 40th anniversary of relations between Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

The booming real-estate sector in Myanmar has expanded to privatised cinemas, as many of them will be rebuilt as high-rise buildings housing mini theatres, chairman of the Myanmar Motion Picture Association said.
