Work starts on giant food warehouse in Thilawa

Metro Wholesale, which reportedly has over 750 wholesale centres in 25 countries, has started work on the construction of a warehouse in Thilawa Industrial Zone. 

Tiparayat Kaewsringarm, deputy CEO of the Myanmar operation, said Metro Cash and Carry would provide secure and quality goods and services. She said Metro would introduce best, international procedures on supply chain management 

The warehouse is due to be built on 28,400 square metres in area A of Thilawa Industrial Zone with construction is expected to be finished by 2018. The warehouse would be build with modern storage equipment, meeting international standards, the firm said

It would be air-conditioned with processing and cleaning laboratories for fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, Metro added, serving hotels, restaurants, offices and retailers.
